Basketball Recap: Winona Takes a Loss

Winona was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 60-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Elysian Fields Yellowjackets.

Brandon Kennedy was his usual excellent self, putting up 33 points for Elysian Fields. With that strong performance, Kennedy is now averaging an impressive 15.5 points per game. Another player making a difference was Colby Stephens, who posted 14 points.

Winona's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Elysian Fields, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-6.

Winona will welcome Grand Saline at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Elysian Fields and Beckville will compete for holiday cheer at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
