Baseball Recap: Roanoke Rapids' Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Roanoke Rapids's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They blew past the Franklinton Red Rams 13-2. Considering the Yellowjackets have won four contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Franklinton's batters probably weren't too happy with Ayden Brantley, who pitched a no hitter and racked up six Ks (he gave up three walks). Brantley also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Roanoke Rapids is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-4 otherwise.

At the plate, Blaine Warren was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. He has become a key player for Roanoke Rapids: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three hits, but 2-4 otherwise. Landen Briggs was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Roanoke Rapids always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
