On Friday, Monroe Area was beaten by Cherokee Bluff 64-27. The loss continues a trend for the Purple Hurricanes in their meetings with the Bears: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, Jackson took a blow against Westside on Friday, falling 69-21. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 469th, while the Seminoles are ranked 141st).
