Soccer Game Preview: MAST Academy vs. Southwest

The MAST Academy Makos will challenge the Southwest Eagles at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. MAST Academy is coming into the contest hot, having won their last nine games.

MAST Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They never let Ransom Everglades onto the board and left with an 8-0 win on Tuesday. The Makos might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by three goals or more this season.

Their offense was hitting Ransom Everglades from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. David Holztreger led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Southwest fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They put the hurt on Westland Hialeah with a sharp 4-0 win on Tuesday.

Southwest has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 3-10 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those four contests. As for MAST Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 12-1-2.
