Softball Game Preview: McKeesport Tigers vs. Franklin Regional Panthers

A feisty cat fight will be fought as McKeesport Tigers challenge Franklin Regional Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

On Friday, McKeesport came up short against Seton LaSalle and fell 4-1. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jessica Miller made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and one RBI.

Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Franklin Regional ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They came out on top against Plum by a score of 8-7 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

The team relied heavily on Toryn Fulton, who got on base in four of her six plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrianna Martz, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI and one stolen base.

McKeesport now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Franklin Regional, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. McKeesport has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Franklin Regional struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
