Football Recap: Orange Park Takes a Loss

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Orange Park's offense. They fell 7-0 to the Andrew Jackson Tigers on Tuesday. The Raiders just can't catch a break and have now endured six losses in a row dating back to last season.

Andrew Jackson found their leader in sophomore Araniya Riggins, who rushed for 100 yards on only six carries, and also threw for 115 yards and one touchdown while completing 71.4% of her passes. The dominant performance gave Riggins a new career-high in rushing yards. Another player making a difference was Deziyah Byrd, who gained 75 total yards and a touchdown.

Orange Park's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Andrew Jackson, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Orange Park will take on Florida School for the Deaf & Blind at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Andrew Jackson, they will face off against Yulee at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
