Softball Game Preview: Wood Memorial Trojans vs. White River Valley Wolverines

The Wood Memorial Trojans will challenge the White River Valley Wolverines at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Wood Memorial's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while White River Valley has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.

Wood Memorial had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Dugger Union on Friday. The Trojans blew past the Bulldogs 10-3.

Meanwhile, White River Valley came up short against Bloomington South on Tuesday, falling 15-1.

The win got Wood Memorial back to even at 3-3. As for White River Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Everything went Wood Memorial's way against White River Valley in their previous meeting back in April of 2017, as Wood Memorial made off with an 11-1 victory. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Wolverines have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
