Football Recap: Lincoln County Starts off Right with Win over Marshall County + How To Watch

Lincoln County took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Friday. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 21-20 win over the Marshall County Tigers. For the Falcons, this counts as revenge for the 24-6 victory the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2020.

Carsen Carter was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 85 yards and three scores. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Lincoln County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 217 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marshall County only rushed for 18 rushing yards.

Marshall County's loss came despite strong showings from Tyler Thompson and Tot Gardner. Thompson punched in two rushing scores, while Gardner gained 109 total yards.

Coming up, Lincoln County will head out on the road to challenge Independence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Marshall County, they will host Shelbyville Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
