Basketball Recap: Bloomfield Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Boyd County came into Thursday's matchup looking for another win against Bloomfield, but Madyson Mlady wouldn't allow it. The Bloomfield Bees blew past the Boyd County Spartans 56-36 on Thursday thanks in part to Mlady, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 boards. Mlady is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least nine every time she's taken the court this season.

The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Eisenhauer, who posted 11 points and six rebounds. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

When it comes to explaining why Boyd County lost, don't look at Jaylee Lechtenberg. Despite the final result, she earned eight points and six rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Lechtenberg a new career-high in blocks (two).

The victory was the third in a row for Bloomfield, bringing their record for this year to 4-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.7 points per game. As for Boyd County, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Bloomfield and Creighton will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Bloomfield is facing Creighton at the right time seeing as Creighton is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Boyd County, they and Wausa will face off at 2:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Boyd County will also cruise into their next contest with the timing on their side: Wausa will have lost three straight heading into Friday's game.
