Basketball Recap: Raymondville Snags Eighth Victory in Last Ten Games

Raymondville won the last time they faced IDEA Riverview, and Colt Cavazos did his part to make sure it happened again. The Raymondville Bearkats managed a 43-38 victory over the IDEA Riverview Rockets on Wednesday thanks in part to Cavazos, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Raymondville's points.

IDEA Riverview lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Manuel Guerra, who posted ten points. Another player making a difference was Oziel Escobedo, who earned ten points.

Raymondville is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season. As for IDEA Riverview, their loss dropped their record down to 9-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Raymondville will square off against IDEA Sports Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
