Baseball Game Recap: Bettye Davis East Anchorage Thunderbirds vs. Service Cougars

Bettye Davis East Anchorage had lost eight straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 3-9 to make it nine. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 10-0 to the Service Cougars, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Thunderbirds were not able to make up for their defeat to the Cougars from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

As for Service, the win keeps they at an undefeated 13-0. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by six runs or more this season.

For Service's part, Kegan Lennox made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Lennox has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gideon Lesslie, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Braun Precosky was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.

Bettye Davis East Anchorage didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 15-1 loss against Dimond on the 12th. As for Service, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 3-2 defeat against South Anchorage on the 13th.
