Football Game Preview: New Brockton Gamecocks vs. Straughn Tigers

New Brockton is 0-3 against Straughn since October of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Gamecocks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

New Brockton is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 42 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Ashford on Friday. They fell 16-6 to the Yellowjackets. While the Gamecocks had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Yellowjackets 6-0.

Meanwhile, Straughn was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 34-28 to Pike County.

New Brockton will have to keep a close watch on Charlie Jordan and Tate Watson, a pair of players who had a big impact on Straughn's prior game. Jordan rushed for 126 yards and three touchdowns, while Watson rushed for 119 yards and one TD on only nine carries. Watson is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 100 every time he's taken the field this season.

New Brockton's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Straughn, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
