Cheverus faced Kennebunk in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Stags never let the Rams get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. The win was just business as usual for the Stags, who after 14 games remain undefeated this season.

Not much got past Addison DeRoche, who gave up just two hits and racked up 13 Ks to keep Kennebunk off the board. DeRoche has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.

Cheverus' victory was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-0. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Kennebunk, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-4.

Looking ahead, Cheverus will be playing at home against Falmouth at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Kennebunk does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
