Volleyball Recap: Southeast Whitfield County Comes Up Short

Southeast Whitfield County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cedartown Bulldogs. If the Raiders were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Southeast Whitfield County started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-16, 15-8.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cedartown to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alexis Warren, who had six digs and three aces. That's the most aces Warren has posted over her last ten games.

Southeast Whitfield County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Cedartown, their victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-13.

Coming up, Southeast Whitfield County will take on Gordon Lee at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cedartown, they will welcome Pepperell at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
