After both having extra time off, the Hinsdale Central Red Devils and the Downers Grove North Trojans will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Hinsdale Central is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Glenbard West just ended the team's three-match winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 2-0 to the Hilltoppers.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-11.

Meanwhile, Downers Grove North faced Mother McAuley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Trojans took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mighty Macs. The loss continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Mighty Macs: they've now lost six in a row.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-18.

Downers Grove North's defeat dropped their record down to 17-8. As for Hinsdale Central, their loss dropped their record down to 9-13.

Hinsdale Central came up short against Downers Grove North in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 2-0. Can the Red Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
