Basketball Recap: Arcadia/Loup City Takes a Loss

Arcadia/Loup City lost against Central City back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Arcadia/Loup City Rebels lost 55-33 to the Central City Bison. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Rebels have suffered since February 20, 2024.

Despite the defeat, Arcadia/Loup City saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Eli Jaixen went 5 of 11 on his way to 17 points and three steals. The match was Jaixen's third in a row with at least ten points.

Central City's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Truman Ryan, who posted 14 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Karter Negus, who put up nine points and seven rebounds.

Arcadia/Loup City dropped their record down to 4-7 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Central City, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arcadia/Loup City will challenge Shelton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Shelton's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests. As for Central City, they will square off against St. Paul at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Central City is facing St. Paul at the right time seeing as St. Paul is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
