Basketball Recap: Graidy Hughes' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Redeemer Christian over Ocala Christian

Redeemer Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 60-40 to the Ocala Christian Crusaders. Sadly, that's the third time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 64-48 back in December of 2024.

Redeemer Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Graidy Hughes, who went 8 of 18 on his way to 18 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was David Permenter, who went 5 of 12 en route to 10 points and six rebounds.

Redeemer Christian's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Ocala Christian, they moved to 9-10 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Redeemer Christian and Seven Rivers Christian will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. As for Ocala Christian, they will square off against Cornerstone Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th.
