Basketball Recap: Albany Comes Up Short

Albany's tournament run continued when they took on Bourgeois on Saturday. The Hornets took a 48-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Braves. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jayla Thompson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Bourgeois, dropping a double-double with 20 points and ten rebounds. Thompson is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Cenae Celestine was another key player, putting up eight points.

Albany's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Bourgeois, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Albany will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Holden at 6:00 p.m. on January 6, 2026. As for Bourgeois, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 50-33 win against Westgate on the 8th.
