Softball Game Preview: McMichael Phoenix vs. Morehead Panthers

McMichael has gone 9-1 against Morehead recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Phoenix will look to defend their home field against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

McMichael's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Morehead 14-0. Winning may never get old, but the Phoenix sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Lindsay Redmon made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Kora Ingle was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and two RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Olivia Wilson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.

McMichael kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

McMichael's win bumped their record up to 18-3. As for Morehead, their victory bumped their record up to 6-9.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. McMichael hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.2 home runs per game. However, it's not like Morehead struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.4 home runs.
