Baseball Recap: Franklin County Takes a Loss

Franklin County lost against Lincoln County back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Rebels lost 16-4 to the Falcons. The Rebels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Franklin County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Casen Gilliam, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Gilliam hit this season.

Franklin County's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Lincoln County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Franklin County will square off against Central Magnet at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lincoln County, they will challenge Columbia Central at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
