Recap: Erwin Warriors vs. Enka Jets

The Erwin Warriors proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by 22) but on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Enka 40-37. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Erwin also won the last time the pair played on January 3rd.

Erwin found their leader in underclassman Teasia Hines, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds. Syria Johnson was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with three blocks and two steals.

Erwin's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Enka, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Erwin will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Asheville at 6:30 p.m. on January 30th. Hopefully Asheville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Wednesday. As for Enka, they will head out on the road to take on A.C. Reynolds at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in A.C. Reynolds' favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while Enka has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
