Preview: New Brockton Gamecocks vs. Daleville Warhawks
The New Brockton Gamecocks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Daleville Warhawks at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (New Brockton has three straight wins, Daleville has nine straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
In what's become a running theme this season, New Brockton gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. Everything went their way against Pike County as New Brockton made off with a 47-24 win. With New Brockton ahead 28-3 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Gabriella Eubanks and Casey Williams were among the main playmakers for New Brockton as the former scored nine points along with six steals and the latter scored 13 points along with two steals. Williams hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Aniya Barkley was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 15 rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Daleville lost to Opp on the road by a decisive 55-41 margin on Friday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Daleville in their matchups with Opp: they've now lost three in a row.
New Brockton's victory bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Daleville, they bumped their record down to 2-10 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for New Brockton against Daleville when the teams last played last Friday as the team secured a 59-22 win. With New Brockton ahead 39-7 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
