Baseball Recap: Foley Comes Up Short

After flying high against Citronelle on Saturday, Foley came back down to earth. The Lions fell just short of the Baldwin County Tigers by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2025.

Jackson Kelly was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Foley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lukus Bryant, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

With the loss, Foley broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-3. As for Baldwin County, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Foley will challenge W.S. Neal at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Baldwin County, they will face off against Daphne at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
