League recap: Conestoga Valley scores huge upset over Ephrata

Lancaster-Lebanon 2 recap Oct. 9, 2012

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Ephrata, who took down 429th ranked Ephrata, 28-14. Anthony Brown threw for five yards and ran for 204 yards in the win.

Solanco was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to fourth in Lancaster-Lebanon 2. The Golden Mules vanquished Lebanon 35-21 earlier in the week.

Manheim Central's dynamic duo of Colin Fry and Taylor Geib proved tough for Cocalico to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Fry threw for 310 yards and two touchdowns and Geib had 190 yards receiving. Cole Proffitt helped Manheim Central's passing attack out by catching six balls for 97 yards.

The Barons' Fry and Geib have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Fry has thrown for 1127 yards this season, while Geib, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 25 catches for 500 yards. Conestoga Valley's Brown leads the league in rushing yards with 711.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Lampeter-Strasburg takes on Manheim Central. The Pioneers are in third place, while Mike Williams' team is in second place.

Lampeter-Strasburg extended the longest winning streak in Lancaster-Lebanon 2 this week by beating Elizabethtown, 42-14. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
