Basketball Recap: Mikey Stapleton's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lafayette Central Catholic over Benton Central

Lafayette Central Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 57-44 to the Benton Central Bison. The Knights were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bison earlier this season, when they won 54-50.

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mikey Stapleton, who posted 16 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Bobby Metzger, who put up ten points.

Lafayette Central Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Benton Central, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8.

Lafayette Central Catholic has already played their next contest (against Faith Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Benton Central will head out to challenge Harrison at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. One thing working in Harrison's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six matchups.
