Preview: Riverside Frontiers vs. Eden Raiders
The Riverside Frontiers will stay at home for another game and welcome the Eden Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on December 11th.
Last Friday, Riverside had to suffer through a rough 81-40 loss at the hands of Grand Island. Riverside was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-20.
Riverside's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Javon Elliot, who scored 13 points, and Landon Jaeckle who scored 12 points. Jaeckle scored a full 30% of Riverside's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Al Hasan Balde, who scored 6 points.
Meanwhile, Eden waltzed into Friday's game with two straight wins but they left with three. They blew past Gowanda 66-41.
Among those leading the charge was Chris Krencik, who scored 23 points along with 5 steals. Krencik is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Tyler Wakelam, who scored 12 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals.
Riverside's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-3. As for Eden, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.
Monday's contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Riverside have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 24.7 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Eden struggles in that department as they've been even better at 32.7 per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
