Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Keyvon Burcher and Demetrius Simon Lead Mclane to Victory

McLane entered their tilt with Stockdale on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 53-50 win over the Stockdale Mustangs.

Leading McLane to victory were Demetrius Simon and Keyvon Burcher. Simon went 9 of 12 en route to 18 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals, while Burcher went 7 for 15 on his way to 16 points and five boards. The match was Burcher's third in a row with at least ten points. Jazmier Boyland was another key player, putting up five points and five rebounds.

McLane has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points per game. As for Stockdale, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McLane will host Madera at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Stockdale, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Centennial at 6:30 p.m.
