After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Buckeye Central, Lucas was happy to have turned things around  on Monday. They came out on top against the Mansfield Christian Flames by a score of  6-3. The Cubs haven't had any issues with the Flames recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive  victory against them.
 Maddie Boyer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  struck out ten batters over  seven innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   seven  hits (and only one walk). Boyer was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring three  runs and  stealing two bases while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Grace Green, who  got on base  in all four of her plate appearances with one  stolen base and one  RBI. That  RBI marked the first that  she  brought in this season. Another player making a difference was  Destiny Foss, who  went 3-for-4 with one  stolen base and two  RBI.
Lucas' win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Mansfield Christian,  they are  on  a  five-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 1-6.
Lucas will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Flames: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
