Volleyball Recap: Brewer Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Brewer can now relate to. They fell just short of the Messalonskee Eagles by a score of 3-2 on Friday. It was the first time this season that the Witches let down their fans at home.

Brewer took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 25-16, 13-25, 17-25, 25-13, 15-12.

Sarah Snowdeal paced Brewer's offense, picking up nine kills. Snowdeal got some help from Eve Pierson and her 20 assists. Zoe Drake controlled things from the service line, finishing with 12 aces.

Messalonskee was led to victory by Alanna Voter and Maggie Hickey. Voter had 21 digs, while Hickey had seven digs and five aces. That's the most aces Hickey has posted since back in September.

Brewer's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Messalonskee, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Brewer does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Messalonskee, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against York on the 29th.
