Football Game Preview: Springfield Millers vs. Crater Comets

The Springfield Millers will head out to square off against the Crater Comets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Springfield beat Eagle Point 20-14. The win continues a trend for the Millers in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won four in a row.

Noah Solo was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 200 yards and one touchdown while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. Those 200 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Springfield didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Eagle Point to a completion percentage of just 23.8%. The Millers hasn't an opponent to post a completion percentage of 0.41 or higher in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Crater, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 29-17 victory over North Eugene on Friday.

Crater's record now sits at 5-2. As for Springfield, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 3-4.

Springfield couldn't quite get it done against Crater in their previous meeting back in September of 2024 as they fell 45-37. Thankfully for the Millers, Valentin Rodriguez (who rushed for 448 yards and four TDs while picking up 7.5 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
