Sequoia Pathway Academy extends home losing streak to six

This season hasn't been kind to the Sequoia Pathway Academy Pumas, who are still winless after their sixth matchup. They had to suffer through a rough 71-17 loss at the hands of Horizon Honors. Sequoia Pathway Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-8.

Horizon Honors' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alex Rivers led the charge by scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Those five assists set a new season-high mark for him. Calvin Mccrory was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with three steals.

Sequoia Pathway Academy bumped their record down to 0-6 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.2 points per game. As for Horizon Honors, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sequoia Pathway Academy will square off against St. Augustine Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Horizon Honors, they will head out on the road to face off against Chandler Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
