Juarez-Lincoln hasn't had much luck against Palmview recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Juarez-Lincoln Huskies will head out on the road to challenge the Palmview Lobos at 6:00 p.m. Palmview took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Juarez-Lincoln, who comes in off a win.
Juarez-Lincoln had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Valley View on Saturday. Juarez-Lincoln was the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over Valley View. The result was nothing new for the Huskies, who have now won five matches by nine runs or more so far this season.
Alexandra Marroquin was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Genesis Valadez, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
Juarez-Lincoln hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Palmview came up short against San Benito on Saturday, falling 16-4.
Alynna Gonzalez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-2. Eissa Flores also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Juarez-Lincoln pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Palmview, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both team's pitchers. Juarez-Lincoln hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having hit 0 of their hits per game. However, it's not like Palmview struggles in that department as they've hit 0 of their hits this season. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Juarez-Lincoln suffered a grim 22-0 defeat to Palmview in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Juarez-Lincoln avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
