League recap: Grace dominating on the mound for Hertford County

3A/2A Northeastern Coastal league recap: 3/13/13

3A/2A Northeastern Coastal's top pitcher this week was Hertford County's Ackerman Grace. Over the past week, he had one win and 13 Ks.

Currituck County had a successful week, as it won five total games to lead the league. The Knights beat Camden County 12-2 and the Bruins 12-2.

First Flight's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing one hit and two walks to lead the league in both categories.

The league boasted six .400 hitters over the past week. They were led by Parker Kelly, who hit .750 this week (3-for-4).

The Night Hawks' Devon Daniels racked up five RBIs this week, more than any other hitter. For the year, he has racked up six RBIs, good for second in the league.



Daniels drove in five runners on Tuesday in First Flight's 15-0 victory over Lawrence Academy. He went 2-for-4 and scored one run.

Grace threw a shutout as he led the Bears to victory over Holmes, 4-0, on Monday. He pitched seven scoreless innings and struck out ten, while giving up one hit.
