Basketball Recap: Fairview Falls Short of Malta in the Playoffs

Fairview and Malta squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Fairview had to settle for second. They were dealt an 81-44 defeat at the hands of the Malta Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Montana basketball rankings (they are ranked 95th, while the Mustangs are ranked eighth).

Fairview has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season. The victory (which was Malta's 11th in a row) raised their record to 16-3.

As of now, neither Fairview nor Malta have any future games scheduled.
