Soccer Game Preview: Palatine vs. Libertyville

The Palatine Pirates are taking a road trip to take on the Libertyville Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Palatine is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Prospect a 4-0 shutout. Considering Palatine's offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

They hit Prospect with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Jocelyn Bonilla, Ilianna Hernandez, Autumn Johnson, and Kiera Seifert.

Meanwhile, Libertyville waltzed into their match on Tuesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They put the hurt on the Zee-Bees with a sharp 8-0 win. The result was nothing new for Libertyville, who have now won nine contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Libertyville pushed their record up to 15-1-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 31 goals over those four games. As for Palatine, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-6-2.

Palatine suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Libertyville in their previous matchup back in May of 2022. Can the Pirates avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
