Basketball Game Preview: Blue Springs South Jaguars vs. Lee's Summit Tigers

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Jaguars take on the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Blue Springs South knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Lee's Summit likes a good challenge.

Blue Springs South is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Missouri's top teams: Lee's Summit North, who was ranked 15th at the time (Blue Springs South was ranked 13th). Blue Springs South fell just short of Lee's Summit North by a score of 75-72 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Jaguars have suffered against the Broncos since March 6, 2019.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Lee's Summit beat Lee's Summit West 56-52 on Friday.

Lee's Summit is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.6 points over those games. As for Blue Springs South, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-6.

Blue Springs South was able to grind out a solid victory over Lee's Summit in their previous matchup on Monday, winning 60-53. The rematch might be a little tougher for Blue Springs South since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
