Basketball Recap: Jensen Mireles' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Rosehill Christian over Westbury Christian

Rosehill Christian lost against Westbury Christian back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Rosehill Christian Eagles took a 60-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Westbury Christian Wildcats. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Rosehill Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jensen Mireles, who went 9 of 16 en route to 25 points and three steals. Those 25 points gave Mireles a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of David Gomez, who went 6 of 9 on his way to 15 points and eight rebounds.

Rosehill Christian's loss dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Westbury Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-14.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rosehill Christian will face off against St. Francis Episcopal at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Francis Episcopal will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Rosehill Christian surely won't give up without a fight. As for Westbury Christian, they will challenge First Baptist Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
