Baseball Recap: Holden Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Holden's offense. They lost 11-0 to the Northshore Panthers on Friday.

Holden got a good showing from Brayden Lewis, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Lewis has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one hit in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Holden saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Easton Hutchinson, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Holden's defeat dropped their record down to 17-8. As for Northshore, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-4-1 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holden will challenge Lutcher at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Northshore, they will take on Fontainebleau at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
