Simpson Academy came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 43.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Wayne Academy Jaguars 60-17. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while the Jaguars are ranked 204th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Simpson Academy has also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.7 points per game.
