Volleyball Recap: Nitro Wildcats vs. Ripley Vikings

Nitro kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ripley Vikings. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their loss to the Vikings from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Nitro was the model of consistency in the loss, scoring 19 points in every single set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-19.

Leading Ripley to victory were Delaney Howery and Jalyn Ramsey. Howery had 11 digs, while Ramsey had three digs and three aces. Howery has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last eight times she's played.

Looking ahead, Nitro will head out to challenge Lincoln County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The contest will give the Wildcats their first taste of in-conference action this season.
