Laney came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Uwharrie Charter Academy Eagles by a score of 9-4.

The team relied heavily on TJ Ziermann, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Owen Gore was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Laney pushed their record up to 15-4 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games. As for Uwharrie Charter Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.

Laney and Uwharrie Charter Academy should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. The Buccaneers (ranked 20th) will meet Hoggard (ranked 180th) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Uwharrie Charter Academy will square off against Wheatmore at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (136 vs. 278).
