Softball Recap: Donna Comes Up Short

The home team had come away the winner the last six times Donna and Pace had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Redskins came up short against the Vikings on Friday, falling 21-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 back in March.

Donna saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elisa Gonzalez, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Donna's loss dropped their record down to 3-16-1. As for Pace, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-10.

Looking ahead, Donna will head out to take on Weslaco East at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Redskins' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season. As for Pace, they will host Porter at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cowboys' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Vikings' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
