Basketball Recap: Liberty Tree Academy Starts Season with Win on the Road

Liberty Tree Academy had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They really took it to the Manzanola Bobcats for the full four quarters, racking up a 65-33 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the War Eagles have posted since December 4, 2023.

Jaydence Smith had an outrageously good game as he almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zack Smith, who posted ten points and four steals.

Despite the loss, Manzanola still got an impressive performance from Mark Holland, who put up 14 points. Julian Chavez was another key player, putting up eight points.

Liberty Tree Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 47-40 defeat against STEM School Highlands Ranch on the 5th. As for Manzanola, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 56-43 loss against Dolores Huerta Prep on the 13th.
