The Marin Catholic Wildcats are taking a road trip to take on the San Marin Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Marin Catholic is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
While Marin Catholic's win against Tamalpais wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wildcats had just enough and edged out the Red Tailed Hawks 3-2. The victory was nothing new for the Wildcats as they're now sitting on three straight.
Malliah Foster spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Morgan Carlson was incredible, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Lyla Gonzalez was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Archie Williams typically has all the answers at home, but on Wednesday San Marin proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with an 8-4 win over the Peregrine Falcons. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Peregrine Falcons: they've now won three in a row.
San Marin also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Taylor Testa gave up just two earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks.
On the hitting side, San Marin let Tessa Christian and Leah Cronin run wild. Christian went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI, while Cronin went 1-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Samantha Whitlock also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
San Marin pushed their record up to 13-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Marin Catholic, their record now sits at 12-4.
San Marin's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Marin Catholic has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .445. It's a different story for San Marin, though, as they've only averaged .342. Will they be able to contain Marin Catholic's hitters?
Marin Catholic skirted past San Marin 3-2 in their previous meeting back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
