Basketball Game Preview: Bishop Manogue Miners vs. Reed Raiders

Bishop Manogue has gone 8-2 against Reed recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Bishop Manogue Miners will host the Reed Raiders at 6:00 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Bishop Manogue is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: North Valleys, who was ranked fifth at the time (Bishop Manogue was ranked 23rd). Bishop Manogue fell 47-35 to North Valleys on Monday.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Josie Williamson, who went 6 for 12 on her way to 14 points and three steals. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Hall, who posted six points.

Meanwhile, Reed unfortunately witnessed the end of their 13-game winning streak on Monday. They were dealt a 62-34 loss at the hands of Spanish Springs. The matchup marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Reed's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 14-2. As for Bishop Manogue, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.

Bishop Manogue came up short against Reed when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 47-41. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Reed's Faanaetaua Puloka, who almost dropped a double-double on 26 points and nine boards.
