St. Augustine Prep dropped their record down to 13-2 on Saturday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They lost 14-5 to the Gloucester Catholic Rams. If the Hermits were looking for revenge after losing 6-1 to the Rams when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

St. Augustine Prep saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Weingartner, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

As for Gloucester Catholic, the win keeps they at an undefeated 10-0. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games.

On Gloucester Catholic's side, Jackson Smallets spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 12 Ks. Those 12 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Smallets.

On the hitting side, Braeden Lipoff was incredible, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and four runs while going 5-for-5. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Henry Pancoast also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

St. Augustine Prep didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 4-1 win against Egg Harbor Township on the 28th. As for Gloucester Catholic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 1-0 victory against Kingsway on the 28th.
