Baseball Game Preview: Lake-Lehman Knights vs. Hanover Area Hawkeyes

Lake-Lehman is 8-2 against Hanover Area since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Knights will welcome the Hawkeyes at 4:45 p.m. Lake-Lehman will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

Last Friday, Lake-Lehman made easy work of Tunkhannock and carried off a 10-4 win.

Jake Evans made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Evans was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Andrew Morris was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Tanner Evans was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Lake-Lehman always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Hanover Area was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They took an 11-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wyoming Seminary College Prep.

Logan Richardson and Ben Kolbicka stepped up to the plate in a big way. Richardson scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Kolbicka scored a run while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Cole Kablick, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Lake-Lehman now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Hanover Area, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Everything went Lake-Lehman's way against Hanover Area in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Lake-Lehman made off with a 12-1 victory. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Hawkeyes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
