Basketball Recap: Bergen Jettie's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Herriman over Corner Canyon

Herriman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They lost 70-48 to the Corner Canyon Chargers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chargers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 56-38 back in January.

Herriman's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bergen Jettie, who posted eight points. Another player making a difference was Grace Cannon, who scored eight points.

Corner Canyon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kate LeRoy led the charge by dropping a double-double with 15 points and ten assists. What's more, LeRoy also posted four steals, the most she's had since back in December of 2023. Addi Yeomans was another key player, going 7-for-11 on her way to 17 points and five assists.

Herriman's loss dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Corner Canyon, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-9.

Herriman didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 53-19 defeat against Copper Hills on the 11th. As for Corner Canyon, they have also already played their next matchup, a 54-44 victory against Riverton on the 11th.
