Basketball Recap: Leland Comes Up Short

Leland lost against Simmons last Tuesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Leland Cubs took a 66-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Simmons Blue Devils.

Prentavis Madison continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Simmons, as he made all 9 shots he took for 25 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. Madison's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Clay Stamps Jr, who made all 7 shots he took racking up 19 points.

Leland has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season. As for Simmons, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-14 record this season.

Leland has already played their next contest, a 61-34 loss against Shaw on the 7th. As for Simmons, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 70-66 win against South Delta on the 7th.
