Baseball Game Preview: L'Anse Creuse North Crusaders vs. Grosse Pointe South Blue Devils

The L'Anse Creuse North Crusaders will head out to take on the Grosse Pointe South Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. L'Anse Creuse North will be strutting in after a win while Grosse Pointe South will be coming in after a loss.

Grosse Pointe South will be up against a hot L'Anse Creuse North squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Crusaders came out on top against Marysville by a score of 10-5 on Saturday.

L'Anse Creuse North's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Koston Blaskowski, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave Blaskowski a new career-high. Another was Wesley Zeiman, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Grosse Pointe South fell victim to Adams and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They lost 12-0 to the Highlanders. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Blue Devils, who until this game were averaging 2.75 runs allowed.

L'Anse Creuse North pushed their record up to 9-12 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Grosse Pointe South, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-4.

L'Anse Creuse North skirted past Grosse Pointe South 7-6 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Crusaders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
